Production Supervisor
SLACAN Industries Inc. is Canada's largest designer and manufacturer of Poleline Hardware, which includes a full line of Transmission and Distribution products. We service the OEM market including the agricultural, mining and other industries. Our in-house processes include forgings, hot / cold stampings and weldments.
Our Company is growing and we are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join the team!

Position Summary
Supervise the manufacture of all products in their area of responsibilities including execution of production schedules, allocating resources, equipment maintenance, quality and employee performance, safety and training.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all quality, efficiency and production objectives are achieved.
- Assures necessary equipment, personnel, tooling and materials are available.
- Work proactively to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
- Ensures that all employees comply with all company and government legislated health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conducts accident and investigations as per the policy.
- Analyzes and resolves work issues and assist workers in solving work related issues.
- Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, worker performance and quality of product.
- Demonstrates leadership and involvement in the implementation of all continuous improvement activities throughout the operation, however particularly in his/ her area of responsibility.
- Suggest innovative processes or investments that will improve current processes.
- Inspects product to verify conformance to specifications and directs any changes that are required.
- Measure work in process to estimate work hour requirements to meet production schedules.
- Plan, assign, and direct work, take corrective action, administer discipline, address complaints and resolve problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Experience
- 3 -7 years in a supervisory role in metal manufacturing, machining or similar environment.
- Experience in a Unionized manufacturing environment an asset
- Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess a high degree of initiative and works well under pressure.
- Able to multi-task and change priorities quickly
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
- Supervisors are expected to be able to rotate between the day shift, afternoon shift, and night shift as operationally required.
