Nut: Lock

Standard nuts can be locked permanently tight with SLACAN Lock Nuts. As the Lock Nut is tightened two small bosses bear against the flat of the nut being locked. Continued tightening produces a slight elastic deformation in the Lock Nut threads causing them to tightly grip the threads of the bolt. The result is a positive locking action.
SLACAN Lock Nuts have clean cut threads, tapped to fit galvanized steel bolts. A wrench can be used for tightening without damage to the Lock but or bolt thread. They are reversible and can be removed and used again if necessary.
