As we close out 2025, Slacan is proud to reflect on a successful year defined by growth, major technological advancements, and strengthened relationships with our communities and partners across the utility industry. From expanding our workforce to modernizing our facility and deepening community support, this year has positioned us for an even stronger 2026.

Here’s a look back at the milestones that shaped 2025.

Expanding Our Facilities Through Advanced Automation

This year marked major advancements in Slacan’s manufacturing capabilities. Several key pieces of equipment became fully operational, including:

  • A fully automated/robotic machine bolt cell
  • A fully automated HO200 robotic forging cell
  • Additional upgrades across production lines to support precision and efficiency

These investments reinforced Slacan’s ability to consistently and efficiently deliver high-quality hardware built for the most demanding environments across North America.

Growing Our Team

As our business continues to expand, so does our workforce. In 2025, we increased our staff by a significant amount, welcoming new talent across multiple departments, primarily in our factory work area.

With increased shifts and added technical expertise, Slacan is operating with more capability and flexibility than ever before.

Significant Increase in Manufacturing Capacity

Thanks to new equipment, added staffing, and increased shift operations, Slacan’s production capacity grew substantially in 2025. We are well-positioned and equipped to take on additional volume, large-scale projects, and accelerated timelines.

This expansion ensures we can support both current customer needs and the long-term infrastructure demands shaping the North American grid.

Growing Our Presence in the U.S. Utility Market

This year also marked considerable progress in Slacan’s U.S. market presence. We’ve been actively supporting American utilities as they prepare for significant transmission and grid-modernization investments in the years ahead.

This year, our team attended more than 15 trade shows and technical conferences, meeting with engineering teams, EPCs, consultants, and utility representatives from across North America.

These opportunities allow us to demonstrate our capabilities, support custom and high-voltage hardware needs, build relationships with future partners, and contribute to upcoming transmission and distribution projects.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

One of our most notable achievements in 2025 was our measurable progress toward sustainability. By phasing out natural-gas-fired furnaces and replacing them with electric induction heaters on many of our forging hammer cells, we have achieved a 50% reduction in our carbon footprint.

This milestone was crucial in our ongoing effort to modernize responsibly and support a cleaner manufacturing future. We will continue advancing sustainability initiatives in 2026.

Strengthening Our Community Impact

At Slacan, supporting the communities where we live and work is central to who we are. This year, we launched a monthly charitable giving program, donating $1,000 to a local organization selected by our team at the end of every month. By the end of this year, we will have contributed $12,000 to 12 different charitable initiatives through this program.

In addition, we’ve supported our Community Food Bank, which helps more than 300 families each month. We’ve donated to Nova Vita, a women’s and children’s domestic violence centre, as well as the Brantford Men’s Shelter, which receives fresh food donations following our events throughout the year. We’ve also maintained our ongoing contributions to United Way, a partnership we have proudly maintained for more than 20 years.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we move into 2026, there is tremendous optimism across our organization. With new business on the horizon, emerging product lines, and increasing industry demand, the coming year promises to be one of growth and innovation as we expect this momentum to accelerate significantly.

We anticipate several large-scale projects across North America, and these opportunities will continue to drive investment in new automation, equipment, and technology throughout our modern manufacturing facility.

At Slacan, we’re excited for what’s ahead—and grateful for the team, customers, and partners who continue to make it possible.

Here’s to a strong and promising 2026.

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year from all of us at Slacan!
